I read postings from folks
who search for quotes
and having one they feel
represents their thoughts
they pass it out
like goods put on display
I wish that they would dig inside
and suss their thoughts
and their individuality reveal
you can do it, I'm egging you on
it really isn't what you say
it's how the words are said
it will never be what you put on the page
cause Anyone's reading it his own way
is it asking too much
are these specious quotes
a specious way
to hold me at bay
